GDTech is an Engineering Service Company specialized in advanced numerical simulation. Headquartered in Belgium, GDTech was created in 1991 and has a strong collaboration with all aerospace and defense major accounts in Western Europe (Thales Group, SAFRAN Group, AIRBUS, ARIANE Group, Sonaca, etc).
Today GDTech Group operates in all strategic industries and includes more than 200 highly skilled engineers and PhDs. GDTech has been ranked by SAFRAN “first and unique supplier for numerical methods in Combustion and Aerodynamics”.
Our strong expertise on these two core competences encouraged us to invest and to develop a new offer related to the development and validation of simulation-driven Digital Twins. Today GDTech is assisting our customers to develop their Digital Twins by supporting the 0D-1D-3D modelling of components and sub-systems, and coupling 3D detailed models to MBSE simulation via advanced Model Order Reduction techniques (including machine learning).
Examples of key projects completed by GDTech Group are advanced modelling of damage and failure of composite structures, fast transient dynamics (e.g. Bird strike and Fan Blade Out), aerothermal and combustion simulations.
GDTech Group also includes a software development subsidiary, Open Engineering, which focuses on strongly coupled multi-physics problems, such as MEMS, Optics, aero-vibro-acoustics, EMAG, piezo-electricity, etc.

Skywin TECCOMA project (with SONACA, SABCA, SAFRAN, …): modelling of damage in composites, modelling curing, modelling large scale aeronautic structures, analysis of the effect of defects, link with testing
Skywin VIBRA project (with SABCA, Centexbel, …): support of braiding process by virtual engineering (simulation of manufacturing process; damage analysis of braided composites)
